Christine Elizabeth Robinson Christine retired as a nurse practitioner in 2013 and became a writer, copyeditor, co-author and blogger. She co-authored books for many years, until May 2022 when she published her own book, Three Years of Her Life. It’s historical fiction, a mix of history, imagination music and romance. Much of her famous grandfather’s life was made up, apart from write-ups in the Boston Tribune and New York Times. He was a well-known orchestral solo trumpeter in the U.S. His birth secret in Germany, once uncovered, brought out family bigotry, which his determined granddaughter tried to stand up too. The secondary story of a doctor and a nurse’s love, trust and commitment balances the historical details.
Christine’s has been in California for 30 plus years. She came from the East Coast and lived in the Northwest. In-between, there were moves to Europe and Asia in the 70s and 80s. She’s still in the SoCal sunshine with Robert and their doggies, Maddie and Max.
Fun Facts
I’m old as dirt, born in 1939, and aiming for the 100-year mark.
I love whimsy and humor, something I try to interject into blog posts and writing.
I modeled for an Illustrator Photographer as a teenager, and was featured on east coast billboards; Give Life a Lift in West Palm Beach – Tropical Florida’s First Resort. I had jet-black hair and violet eyes, just like Elizabeth Taylor.
I published poetry years ago, and that led me to write fiction.
I attended the same university as my sons, and at the same time. I also knew their girlfriends there (now wives). I was an honorary Frat Mom, and a designated driver.
I lived in Italy, Greece and Japan (5 years in each country). The highlight, traveling and skiing the Matterhorn (Italian Alps), and ski slopes in France, Austria and Switzerland.
I was a tech challenged blogger at the beginning in 2014, and I “learned by fire” how to put the WordPress site together and keep it “blazing” with published posts. I began the WordPress site back in 2010 as an assignment in a yearlong Copyediting Certificate program. It just sat there waiting for me to develop it further.

There we go, now everything makes sense. I should’ve known why I felt so welcome here. After many years of being at war with the medical establishment, when I finally decided that I did need their help the only person I would settle on to lead the medical team that now works with me was a nurse practitioner who has managed to do more for me in two years than any other doctor had at all those various times throughout my entire life. In those two years she’s not only lead the med team, but she has become one of my best friends. I guess that particular profession just attracts the right kind of people. So I’ll talk to you later, and have a great New Year.

This is more to finding a single word than a string that makes sense the way you wish it to but perhaps this will help.

So wonderful to meet you! I love love sunrises and sunsets and anything sun related. For a long time I lived in the SF Bay area – LOTS of sun. Now I live in the Boston area. Not so much sun, particularly November through April. 😦 But I have lots of photos of sunrises and sunsets around my house. 🙂 You have a wonderful blog.

Funny you should ask! Charlotte was a real person in my childhood back in the 1940s. She was the true librarian and genealogist (in the WIP Sunset Inn book) who helps Elizabeth research her grandparents’ lives. Charlotte has history files on all famous people in small town of Lovell, Maine and nearly Kezar Lake area. Elizabeth’s grandfather was a famous trumpet player in major symphonies and orchestras on the east coast US. So, Charlotte is still in my mind as a huge help for me to continue the research today on grandfather’s extraordinary life in Germany and the US. I do have a research friend who has found many articles about grandfather and has provided a timeline of his life for me. So, you might say Charlotte is still with me, and has taken many other life forms! 💛 CE

Christine, you are kind. Alas, it would be lovely to write about art. While I’ve had no training in art appreciation, I have long been drawn to it. The hat I wore before is that of a therapist and Child Protection Officer and other work in some related areas such as Domestic Violence. My degrees are all in Psychology. I am also a survivor. For years colleagues asked me to write “that story”. “Write it for those we try to help and for us to learn from.” It seems that now I am far away sufficiently to do so. ❤ L

Lea, your story would be a tremendous help for other survivors. Is that the story you have started to write? Is it more geared toward the psychological impact, and therapy? Of course I have an interest in all things related to psychology. I’ve even drawn out my main character’s psychological wound in the book. It seems to attract readers. How are you structuring your book. I’d love to know more about your process. Distance and healing as a survivor is a huge benefit. 💛 Christine
