Sandrine Tungka, a young blogger from Jakarta, Indonesia nominated me for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. Because we have been virtual friends for many months now, I thank you Sandrine, and I’m honored to accept the nomination. Sandrine has a diverse blog with many posts under categories; Travels, Daily Prompt, Wedding Journey, Married Life, My Opinion, and Entertainment. She has a goal to build a successful online store, and a dream to have her own cake shop. Most of all her first goal is to be a writer! Her blog site is SanWa Journeys, life is a miracle that needs to be thankful for. Visit her blog site here – http://sanwajourneys.com
The Rules: 1. Thank the person who nominated you and add a link to their blog. 2. Display the award on your post. 3. List the award rules so your nominees will know what to do. 4. State 7 things about yourself. 5. Nominate 15 other bloggers for the award.
For a few months now Before Sundown has been an Award-Free Blog. It’s time consuming to accept awards, and I should be working on three writing-in progress books. But, this one has minimal work involved, no questions for me to answer or make up for nominees, and I only need to state 7 things about myself! The hard part is limiting my nominees to 15! Over the last nine months from Before Sundown’s beginning, I’ve made many world-wide blogger friends. I’m certain there will be some not on the list that I’d want to be there.
After declaring the blog site award-free, I’ve accepted a few awards that relate to only writing. However, in the future if I fully reinstate accepting all kinds of awards, I may adopt a creative solution from an author friend, Nicholas Rossis, who has created an Awards Page with several blogger friends’ names on it. Each award that he gets is on the page, and he invites anyone on the list to accept the award for themselves. What a lovely surprise to find my name on his list! It’s an unconventional way of doing this award business, but so far no awards police have knocked on his door and summoned him to Blogosphere Court! Nicholas writes sci-fi, epic fantasy & children’s stories, and his books can be reviewed and purchased on his site – http://nicholasrossis.me
Some of the blogger friends on my list of 15 might have tons of awards and do not want more, or they have award-free sites. So, I decided to take another blogger friend, author Sally G. Cronin’s creative alternate idea to accepting the traditional award. Sally offers a Bouquet of Flowers and a thank you in gratitude for visiting and following her blog. Sally has a blog site with several interesting health topics and her published books. Visit her site – http://smorgasbordinvitation.wordpress.com
Now, here’s my alternate idea in place of the traditional award. I’d like to offer a Field of Flowers Award to those nominees unable to accept the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. I want to recognize you as I value your visits, likes, and comments on Before Sundown, and look forward to reading your posts and sharing thoughts with you far into the future. The Field of Flowers selection will be at the end after the nominees’ names. Of course there’s a sun rising or sun setting on each of the horizons! Okay…if you want both awards, you can have them!
But first the business of writing 7 things about me!
I’m old as dirt already, born in the late 1930s, and plan to live beyond the 100 year mark.
I love whimsy and humor, something I try to interject into serious writing-in-progress books.
I modeled for an illustrator photographer and was featured on a billboard, Give Life a Lift in West Palm Beach – Tropical Florida’s First Resort, throughout east coast states. I had jet black hair and violent colored eyes just like Elizabeth Taylor!
I published poetry years ago and that led me to write more “free rein for the brain” words in fiction and non-fiction books.
I attended the same university as my sons, and at the same time. I also knew their girlfriends (now wives) there! I was an honorary frat Mom, and at times a designated driver!
I’m an ex-pat, and lived in Italy, Greece and Japan (5 years in each country). The highlight was traveling, and skiing the Matterhorn (Italian Alps), and other great slopes in France, Austria, and Switzerland.
I was a tech challenged blogger nine months ago, and I “learned by fire” how to put the WordPress site together and keep it “blazing” with published posts, and The Sun also Rises and Sets Gallery. Featuring those incredible (borrowed) sunrise & sunset photos from world-wide blogger friends!
Drum-roll please! The 15 nominees are:

Oh No, how embarrassing! Reblogged with a “typo” in the title! Finally caught it, but too late. Maybe the write-up and the photos distracted it, and kinda made up for it. I know, I know typos happen! =(( Christine

Congratulations on the new award, you are richly deserving of it. I stopped by Sanwa Journeys and said hi to Sandrine, and added her page to my list of follows, it really is a lovely page. And your Field of Flowers Gallery is pretty awesome also, just absolutely beautiful considering how much I love flowers. So congratulations once again, and have a wonderful day full of sunshine to light your way. 🙂

Wow, Christine, you should get The VERY MOST Inspiring Blog Award !!! You write such beautiful, engaging responses when you receive awards, and I enjoy every one because I learn something new about my older-than-dirt, look-she’s-on-a-billboard blogging buddy 😋 Plus you send me to other fun blogsites.
Thank you so much for including me as one of your award recipients. The feeling of warmth and validation that comes with these recognitions by our peers is truly supportive and confidence-building.
Your stream of sunshine and fields of flowers in this post is breath-taking. I keep scrolling through it just to see the immense beauty of our planet’s miracles.
Happy Valentine’s Day 💞💖💕

Thank you so much Sammy D. for your wonderful comments and for accepting the award! You read the award post before I got to tell you “you’re on the list!” Feel free to take both awards! The field of flowers is peaceful! I think you might know some to the other nominees already. We seem to follow and comment on their posts at the same time. My son coined the phrase “old-as-dirt” in jest. He has to remember that I’m “getting older” hence “old as dirt” and he needs to check on me more often to see if I’m still walking and talking. Humor is good in talk as well as in writing! So happy we are blogger friends, I so enjoy reading your posts! Happy Valentine’s Day to you! All Best, Christine

Happy you like the field of flowers, pink tulips and pink sky! Look forward to reading your book (should be in my mailbox on Monday), and the next serial episode! All Best, Christine Happy Valentine’s Day to you!
