Sunset Inn, Kezar Lake, Center Lovell, Maine

1923 – Gustav & Edna Heim (my grandparents) created Sunset Inn & Cottages on the shores of Kezar Lake. Today, it’s part of Quisisana Resort, an adjacent piece of lakefront land. Musical tradition at Quisisana Hotel goes back to 1917.  Spenser & Madaline Strauss established the resort as a haven for musicians. And music lovers who played together for their own entertainment. A Quisisana guest, Gustav Heim, served as first trumpeter with symphony orchestras in Boston, Detroit and New York.

Three Years of Her Life, a debut novel is an indelible portrait of family love, trust, commitment, and unrelenting prejudice. A stirring tale that rides the line between historical fiction and romance, inspired by a famous musician’s hidden secret in Germany.

    There is nothing like a beautiful Sunset.
    It comes to Fruition and changes by the minute until it fades into the evenings darkness.
    Everyone is different like fingerprints in the sky and the one you see is different from what others see making the one you saw Uniquely your own
