1923 – Gustav & Edna Heim (my grandparents) created Sunset Inn & Cottages on the shores of Kezar Lake. Today, it’s part of Quisisana Resort, an adjacent piece of lakefront land. Musical tradition at Quisisana Hotel goes back to 1917.  Spenser & Madaline Strauss established the resort as a haven for musicians. And music lovers who played together for their own entertainment. A Quisisana guest, Gustav Heim, served as first trumpeter with symphony orchestras in Boston, Detroit and New York.

Three Years of Her Life, a debut novel is an indelible portrait of family love, trust, commitment, and unrelenting prejudice. A stirring tale that rides the line between historical fiction and romance, inspired by a famous musician’s hidden secret in Germany.

      David, WOW…I just looked at the link! Those sunsets are extraordinary! Sent you a comment on that post of my two favorites! I will definitely put relaxing with the sinking sun and nearly gone on the Welcome Page! My next idea is to feature one of those sunsets with a mini-bio of you with photos for a month long feature on the Welcome Page. Your sunset would be the new header! I’m getting a lot of visitors with this feature and in turn it promotes the photographer/blogger! All good! Right now I have Tess (Cut the Crap blog) interested in sending me a sunset.
