Debut novel: Three Years of Her Life – C.E.Robinson

Photo gallery- sunsets and sunrises from worldwide blogger friends.ย

Sunset Inn, Kezar Lake, Center Lovell, Maine

1923 – Gustav & Edna Heim (my grandparents) createdย Sunset Inn & Cottages on the shores of Kezar Lake. Today, it’s part of Quisisana Resort, an adjacent piece of lakefront land.ย Musical tradition at Quisisana Hotel goes back to 1917. ย Spenser & Madaline Strauss established the resort as a haven for musicians. And music lovers who played together for their own entertainment.ย A Quisisana guest, Gustav Heim, served as first trumpeter with symphony orchestras in Boston, Detroit and New York.

Three Years of Her Life, a debut novel is an indelible portrait of family love, trust, commitment, and unrelenting prejudice. A stirring tale that rides the line between historical fiction and romance, inspired by a famous musician’s hidden secret in Germany.

Sunrise and sunset seem to be the most perfect part of the day. It’s everything in between – on both ends of it – that get jacked up.

    Great pictures.

  23. Thank you for sharing the sunsets Christine. I’ve always loved that time of the day when the sun is going down, I can’t explain the sometimes unsettling feeling, but it always makes me think of God and how magnificent life can be. Stories are important: As teenager it bugged me that my grandmotherโ€™s stories took liberties with facts: now I see she was a great storyteller and embellished for the sake of drama and surprise!
Her name was Karen but she was known as Sissa.
She was neighbor to the greatest Danish Storyteller Isak Dinesen = Karen Blixen ( Out of Africa etc)

    • C.E.Robinson says:

Thank you, Elisabeth. Storytellers do tell tales for drama. Your grandmother would have been a good writer! How interesting to have a famous neighbor. Wonder if they talked writing & books over coffee. Can just imagine! ๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŽถ Christine

  35. Wow, your sunrise/sunset photos are breathtaking, Christine. I’m not an early riser. I take many sunset photos during my travel. I even take sunset photos in the sky from the plane. If I fly during sunset time, I make sure to get a window seat facing west. I have a folder on my computer for all the sunrise/sunset photos. I’ll check out your book later.
