Three Years of Her Life – Novel Update

May Flowers are here. And… next week expect Three Years of Her Life, a debut novel.

Three Years of Her Life, set in New England and Central Europe, is similar in concern and significant issues to bestselling American Epic books of the Great Depression, The Great War and the U.S. South. People and places focused, the novel’s heartwarming and heart-wrenching themes mark history in unsettled times. An indelible portrait of family love, trust, commitment, and underlying prejudice. A stirring tale that rides the line between historical fiction and romance, inspired by a famous musician’s hidden secret in Germany.

November 2, 1933, New York Times headline, “Dead at Age 54. Was Trumpet Soloist in Leading Orchestras Here and in Boston and Detroit.”Gustav F. Heim (1879-1933)

He wished to retain his golden trumpet, the gift of admiring friends. “It is my pal,” he said,”and when I answer the last curtain call, I pray my trumpet be buried with me.”

His dying words to family. “No one is to look into my past. That history dies with me.”

As they had planned, Elizabeth’s beloved Erik went to Hamburg, Germany for cardiac research. And he made a side trip in search of her grandfather’s birth certificate. It could be the link to the famous musician’s secret, and the mystery woman’s photo in his pocket watch.

Tim, thanks for all your questioning comments. I appreciate your support in my marketing book attempts. It made a great story theme. And grandfather actually said it. Not made up, and the story was built around it. Also rumor had it that he was adopted. Bingo! Another big tell for the book. Wish I had really known him, or even asked more about him when I was younger, and the elder family members were still alive. Imagination had to kick in. 📚🎶 Christine
