ABOUT CHERYL

Cheryl Pennington is multi-talented, a well trained and seasoned Ophthalmic technician in the field of Ophthalmology, an imaginative artist who paints, sketches and makes jewelry, a creative writer, an energetic cook/baker, and a prolific photographer. She has a deep desire to connect with others creatively. Her goal is to live life fully in the present moment. She believes the present is the only one which truly exists.

Cheryl started blogging in 2012

“to honor my passion for photography and share precious moments from the paradise home we enjoyed for 8 months in Costa Rica.“

She’s born under the Cancer astrological sign; ethereal, obstinate, hopeful, romantic, dependable, loyal and steadfast. Not a lover of change. Her husband, a Virgo, quite the opposite, “a wanderer, dreamer, and seeker of adventure and change.” Hence her 8 month adventure living in Costa Rica.

When she photographed the last sunset of 2016, her thoughts on “marking of time” turned from it makes us harried, impatient, fearful and old, to viewing it as

“the rise and set of the sun as markers of opportunity, the chance for a fresh start with every rising disc of fire and the sweet relief of repose when it slips into the earth again.”

Her photography subjects are widespread, birds, flowers, people, and moons. She takes photos of the moon every chance she gets. She loves to

“glimpse her face in the shadows of the trees; and like a voyeur, she watches us from the velvet night canvas.”

One thing I do have to add or ammend Christine is that I am not in optometry but in Opthalmology. While there are Optometrists in the practice, I am an ophthalmic technician. Once upon a time I was an optician. Different corners of one field. 😊

Thanks Greg. Believe this was in Costa Rica. Cheryl lived there for 8 months. My guess she now lives in a warm state. From information on her blog, I think maybe Louisiana. 💛 Christine

Well you are both correct greg-in-washington and Christine. While many of the sunsets posted on the blog are from our living in Costa Rica, this one was taken in Florida on our way home from a mini vacation in Louisiana! Right on all counts in various time frames. 😀
