ABOUT PAUL

image-12-20-16-at-12-09-pm

Photography fascinated Paul from childhood. His first camera in 1983 was a Smena, a Russian camera on film. Today he uses a DSLR camera, but doesn’t forget the film camera and still uses it. Maybe someday he’ll post photos done on film.

Paul loves to learn, to read, and he loves visual arts. He also likes paintings, pictures, mountains, the sea, classical and crossover music.

My vision in photography is a little bit different from others. I prefer to set my camera as perfectly as I can, and use software (Lightroom or Photoshop), for little rares, and to put my name on it. I use different cameras, from Olympus, Pentax to Nikon or Canon, full frame for digital photography, and on film from Voigtlander to Nikon, even Russian cameras.

It’s impressive how he got to photography through education and expertise in other fields, construction, mathematics and computer science. His first school was University of Construction (construction engineer). The second was University of Mathematics and Computer Science, with a Masters Degree in Computer Science. Then his last school was Arts and Technical Photography. You’ll see how he put it all together on his website, Paul Militaru, Photography Portfolio. It takes more than a point and shoot camera to achieve his level of expertly produced photos.

Paul’s prior sunset on the Before Sundown blog site was in August 2015. From that time I’ve looked forward to his daily blog posts with diverse, incredible photographs of flowers, animals, sunsets, Romanian landscapes and Bucharest city features.

His HOME page is written in Romanian, however the ABOUT ME is in English. A visit to Paul’s website is well worth your time.
