You read it right!! She’s not dancing with the flying elephant DUMBO, but dancing in DUMBO, a neighborhood in the New York City borough of Brooklyn.
DUMBO means Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. It’s very similar to other city neighborhoods with an acronym like SoHo, Tribeca or NoHo. DUMBO takes up two sections. The first section is located between Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges, which connect Brooklyn to Manhattan across the East river. The second section continues east from the Manhattan Bridge to the Vinegar Hill district.
The DUMBO neighborhood is a model for similar waterfront developments worldwide. Joy Glidden founded the Dumbo Arts Center (DAC), and she’s the co-founded of the Dumbo Art Under the Bridge Festival. A claim, of “using art as a catalyst for change.”
In 2007, the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission designated Dumbo as the city’s 90th historic district. That district consist of properties bound by John Street to the north, York Street to the South, Main Street to the west, and Bridge Street to the east.
Why wouldn’t Audrey say, “Love this city more everyday!”
I love the set of photos, but especially the ones on Audrey dancing. And thank you, Christine. I learned something today, as I was not aware of DUMBO the neighborhood. Unfortunately, I have only been through the airport in NY City, so I am not familiar with NY at all.

Thank you Tim! Coming from an incredible photographer as yourself, I’m happy you liked the photos. I did rearrange them again to intermingle Audrey more in larger photos. I learned about DUMBO too after an internet search. Thought it would be interesting to followers & visitors. Christine

I hadn’t heard of DUMBO — what an interesting and entertaining post. It “fits” with the pictures of Audrey dancing — or at least it does the way you arranged them, Christine. Well done! Huge hugs. 😀

Teagan, thank you so much for your comment and like of Audrey’s post! DUMBO was new to me, too! Audrey seems to search out new and interesting places to dance, doesn’t she?
Hugs back! Christine

I say ouch, o.u.c.h to bare feet doing toes-ies on concrete or stone. Fabulous photos. ❤
I've only been to NYC once about 50 or so years ago. 😦

Sammy D., not exactly! Audrey gives me a statement and I take it from there. Pictures are posted on FB. And I do research to put it together. You might say, I’m living her adventures. And she loves it! I get lots of hearts & hugs from her. Christine

Sweet post, Christine. I’m so happy for your Audrey. I’d like to say I’ve enjoyed DUMBO, but I’ve mainly been stuck there in traffic on my way to other parts of Brooklyn. ☺ Van
Glad you’re back, I’ve missed you !!

Van, Oh, no! NYC traffic can spoil any view. The dancers on foot aren’t distracted by driving. Thanks for missing me! I’m editing a screenwriter’s script & helping to develop the story. So much work, but a ton of fun! Christine
